What is National River Tubing Day?
National River Tubing Day is a day to join friends and family to celebrate our nation’s beautiful waterways. The United States has many incredible rivers and creeks to be enjoyed and explored. Floating and fun are highly encouraged! Get outside and on the water and enjoy the natural beauty of our great nation.
How is National River Tubing Day celebrated?
Set aside a day to hit the water. It is advised to use the services of a tubing outfitter as they check water levels and provide tubes, personal flotation devices and shuttles. However, if you know the river or creek you choose to tube, you can also do your own thing. Always check the weather and water conditions and choose a waterway that is appropriate for tubing. Most important — leave no trash behind!
Why was National River Tubing Day created?
To encourage people of all ages that river tubing is a great way to get outside and slow down — even if only for a short amount of time. It is an affordable and family friendly activity appropriate for all ages. No special skills or equipment are required. There is no better way to fully enjoy the outdoors. It is a gift of experience to share with the people you care about and enjoy spending time with.
This National Day was created by Anthony Wilson of Loafers Glory Rafting & Tubing in February 2023.
