What is Pynkalycious Day?
Pynkalycious is a day that has been officially registered as trademarked and service marked in the State of South Carolina since 2013. Chapman Foundation is a Non Profit organization that created this to support breast cancer awareness. During this month we celebrate life, survival, and purpose. Pynkalycious is a time where we get together as a community to embrace those that have been affected by breast cancer directly or indirectly. Pynkalycious is our annual signature event, it is a walk to promote breast cancer awareness. Proceeds go to local organizations that support breast cancer.
Why is this day being celebrated or observed?
This day is being created because as a nonprofit organization we want to support our community at large. We would like Pynkalycious Day to become a holiday because that would create a larger network to serve a larger community that is being affected by this cancer. The holiday would be an opportunity for those to celebrate, support, embrace this great cause. Breast Cancer affects a variety of ages and races. We want to build on the creation of an inclusive culture at our foundation.
How should this day be celebrated or observed?
This day should be celebrated and observed for those who have suffered directly or indirectly by this cancer. The celebration and observance of this day will take our initiative to a national level. We currently serve our local community and once we are recognized as a national holiday we would be able fulfill our mission at a larger capacity.
