When is this day celebrated? January 10
What is National Shareholder Day?
Over 52 percent of Americans own stock and many more Americans own stocks indirectly through pension plans and other savings accounts. Additionally, investment firms are a major part of the American economy and have also played a major cultural role in American life. Since its creation, the stock market has always been the #1 means of wealth creation for Americans and the reason many Americans can retire comfortably. For this reason, National Shareholders Day encourages all of us to look at our Portfolios, monitor our stocks and for companies to thank their shareholders for being such a big part of their success.
Why was this day created?
National Shareholders Day encourages all of us to look at our Portfolios, monitor our money and to remind companies to thank their shareholders. Many Americans forget to invest in the market (despite its value as a long-term wealth creator), and companies forget to thank their shareholders for being so critical to their success. National Shareholders Day will encourage shareholders to meet with their financial planners and with investor relations staff at firms in which they are invested in.
Who created this day? This day was founded by Krupa Global Investments in 2019.
How should this day be celebrated?
Companies should host open investor days where even ordinary shareholders can speak with management and other executives about corporate performance and learn more about management’s strategies.
