Payton Summons Day

When is National Payton Summons Day? This day will take place on October 10 of each calendar year.

What is National Payton Summons Day?

National Payton Summons day is to raise awareness to others about life and death laws in their state. You know your child’s body and when one doctor will not do more to figure out what is wrong with your child, you need to get another opinion. Your child’s health has never been more important to you until you can no longer make medical decisions on their behalf because of laws that give doctors the legal right to choose what is best for your kid.

Why is this day being celebrated or observed?

Payton Summons was a healthy, normal nine-year-old who had a cough, and the doctors brushed it off even though she was a child with a history of cancer. Due to the neglect of the doctor my child died. I fought in court for her to live and receive medical attention that was denied to me. My hope is for everyone to be aware of life and death laws in their state and fight for their kids’ well-being.
