When is this day celebrated? September 2
What is National Indoor Air Quality Day? On this day, everyone should take the time to consider the quality of air inside their homes. For many Americans, the majority of time is spent indoors, especially during the fall and winter months, yet we often overlook the importance of clean and fresh indoor air.
Why is this day being created? There are many solutions available to help improve the quality of indoor air, as well as reduce mold, mildew and bacteria spores that can dwell within one’s duct work. Some of these include air duct cleaning, UV air purifiers, humidifiers, and replacing furnace filters frequently. Let this day serve as an educational reminder that there are actions that can (and should) be taken to help improve you and your family’s overall health.
Who created this day? This day was founded by Angela Downey in 2018.
How should this day be celebrated or observed? Schedule a complete furnace checkup and/or an Air Duct Cleaning with a reputable HVAC provider. Learn about the effects of poor indoor air quality and tips to combat it, then share your findings on social media. Replace your furnace filter and share pictures online.
