When is this day celebrated? July 26
What is this day?
On I GOT U Day the goal is for everyone in the world to take time to think of someone else by being respectful of someone of a different race, religion, sexuality. Be patient and understanding with someone who has a disease, illness, disability. Demonstrate sportsmanship by respecting your teammates, coaches, referees and umpires, opposing players, and do the right thing both on and off the field or court, and be grateful for your fans and your family who made it possible for you to play. Celebrate unity by being inclusive at school, work, church, wherever. Be accepting of others that are different from you and getting to known their story. Honor the memory of someone you lost by doing a good deed so you know they would be proud of you; Adopt, rescue or foster… adopt a child (not just babies, but older children who need homes too), rescue a stray dog or cat (so many animals need families), or open your heart and foster a child who doesn’t have a family or just even start to consider it. Pay respect to someone who is active duty military, a veteran, national guard, or reserve…pay respect to those who are sacrificing for our freedoms.
I GOT U DAY is not ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ nor is it ‘Pay It Forward’, as they are both one and done. Meaning you did a random good act, or you paid it forward once, whereas I GOT U is a behavior, I GOT U is a lifestyle…a way to live your life day in/day out, by opening both your mind and heart to others. I GOT U Day is a reminder to ALL PEOPLE that the world is a better place when we are more selfless. The world needs I GOT U right now, more than ever, and I made a promise that I would always make sure that my daughters memory was remembered and honored, and there would be no better way to do that than to see people just being good and considerate to others on national I GOT U Day!
Who created this day? This day was founded in 2020 by Walter Boldish, founder of I GOT U.
I GOT U is a for benefit organization. They 10% of the proceeds and help feed malnourished children on the weekends when they are not in school by sending them home with bag of food items on Fridays, so they can come back to school on Monday nourished, feeling good, and able/ready to learn.
How is this day celebrated or observed?
It’s simple… by being good, kind, considerate, loving, respectful, inclusive of other human beings on this planet. When people are good to one another and start to look for the good in one another, it’s a domino effect…it creates positivity and acceptance. I GOT U Day is going to change the world for the better. I GOT U is the hope for a better, more loving, more accepting world for all of our children to grow up in compared to the world we live in today. And all it takes to get started is three simple words…I GOT U!!
