National Freeman-Sheldon Syndrome Awareness Day

When is National Freeman-Sheldon Syndrome Awareness Day? This day will take place on May 2 of each calendar year.

What is National Freeman-Sheldon Syndrome Awareness Day?

Freeman-Sheldon Syndrome is a syndrome that affects approximately 200-300 individuals worldwide. As we have more beautiful individuals enter this world with this rare syndrome, it’s important that they feel seen and celebrated. To celebrate this day, we show appreciation towards those with this syndrome.

Why is this day being celebrated or observed?

I am creating this day to honor my mother-in-law, Donna Marcus, who had this syndrome as it ran in her family. We lost Donna to cancer this day in 2020. I am also creating it to honor my husband and daughter who also have this syndrome. I want to show them and other individuals with this same syndrome that they are valued, loved, and appreciated.

How should this day be celebrated or observed?

In order to celebrate this day, we show appreciation to our loved ones who share this syndrome.

Who created this day? This day was created in November 2021 by Kaelin Klassen.
