When is this day celebrated? September 13th of each calendar year.
What is National EV Charging Day? National EV Charging Day is focused on education and awareness about the future of transportation, including the shift to electric vehicles and importance of EV charging. This day brings together businesses, government officials, fleets, policy stakeholders and EV drivers to celebrate the environmental and economic benefits of making the switch to electric. Together we can continue to spread this positive change across the globe, clearing the air and driving a better way™ together.
Why is this day being celebrated? We are in the midst of the most significant change in transportation since the invention of the automobile. Within the decade, electricity is on track to become the dominant fuel for moving people and goods around the world. The time has come for the masses to understand that electric vehicles and EV charging are integral to the future of transportation.
Since 2007, ChargePoint has been focused on all things EV charging across all segments, making it easy for businesses and drivers alike to go electric. We consider it our responsibility to make the transition to electric easy for everyone, and to lead diverse groups in making it happen.
