National Blepharoplasty Day

What is National Blepharoplasty Day?

National Blepharoplasty Day is dedicated to the education of blepharoplasty and celebration of the positive impact it can have on patients’ lives from improved vision to a more youthful appearance. Blepharoplasty is the most common cosmetic surgery for people in the US over 40 years old. National Blepharoplasty Day was first celebrated on June 7, 2023 by Dr. Barron Heymann and his team at Natural State Aesthetics in Fayetteville, Arkansas on the second anniversary of their clinic’s opening.

Why was National Blepharoplasty Day created?

This day will be an opportunity for oculoplastic and other plastic surgery clinics to promote education on one of the most common cosmetic and functional procedures performed. Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper or lower eyelids. As we age, we can develop excess or heavy tissue causing our lids to impede our vision and make us look older than we feel. In some cases, upper lid blepharoplasty may be deemed medically necessary if it will improve vision. Lower lid blepharoplasty is always cosmetic but it can make a huge difference in appearance!

How should National Blepharoplasty Day be observed?
