When is National Ahmad “Captain Poodaman” Butler Day: A Day to Honor Children With Cancer? This day will take place on May 25 of each calendar year.

What is National Ahmad “Captain Poodaman” Butler Day: A Day to Honor Children With Cancer? This is a day to honor brave and courageous children with cancer.

Why is this day being celebrated or observed? This is a day to celebrate the life of Ahmad “Captain Poodaman” Butler, who died at age 6 from brain cancer, by honoring and supporting children battling cancer. The purpose of this day is not only to raise awareness of childhood cancer, but to be a wonderful distraction for children battling cancer. In a way that allows everyone to honor and encourage them. By celebrating this National Holiday, everyone will be able to say, “I fought childhood cancer” by allowing a child with cancer to remember what life was like as a child without cancer.

How should this day be celebrated or observed? Celebrate this day by honoring the child with cancer amongst family and friends. Encourage them with gifts, awards, well wishes, and LOVE. Prepare their favorite meal. Take them to their favorite place. If they are hospitalized, take them a card, balloons, a gift, and a cupcake. Grant the child a wish, and make it come true! This National Holiday is meant to be the Honoree’s “Big Day”. A day of pampering, and a day that gives them a momentary escape from their constant battle with cancer. One that creates lasting, loving, cherishable memories.
