When will Gnome Your Neighbor Day be celebrated? April 1st of each calendar year.
What is Gnome Your Neighbor Day? Gnome Your Neighbor Day is a fun alternative to April Fools Day. It is designed to help neighbor get out and meet people who live, work and serve in their neighborhoods but often go unnoticed. Gnome Your Neighbor Day is an invitation to bring some kindness and joy into your little corner of the world. We have ideas for friends and neighbors who live next door as well as those who live across the globe.
Imagine… What would happen if, for one day, you chose to sprinkle some kindness and magic throughout your world?
- Whose day could you turn around?
- How many smiles could you create?
- What kind of magic could you make?
Gnome Your Neighbor Day invites you to share a little dose of magic with your family and the world.

- Write a love note on Gustav’s back- a quote, letter or other inspiration

Why was Gnome Your Neighbor Day created? In our screen-filled world, it is the new normal for people to live on a street where they may not even know their neighbors. The average child spends 8 hours a day on a screen. Gnome Your Neighbor Day is a small way to have a big impact on neighborhoods, schools and offices where people often feel unseen and unheard. Each opportunity to connect with one another is a small ripple that positively impacts the world.
Who created this day? This day was created by My Gnome on the Roam in 2024.
